"And seated a little apart was a tall man with a fair and noble face, dark-haired and grey-eyed, proud and stern of glance. He was cloaked and booted as if for journey on horseback; and indeed though his garments were rich, and his cloak lined with fur, they were stained with long travel. He had a collar of silver in which a single white stone was set; his locks were shorn about his shoulders. On a baldric he wore a great horn tipped with silver that was now laid on his knees. He gazed at Frodo and Bilbo with sudden wonder." -J.R.R. Tolkien, The Fellowship of the Ring Welcome to my new feauture character page! Here I will be featuring one character from LOTR a month, telling about the character, book and movie, and how they relate to Pippin. For the month of December 2003 I will be featuring Boromir! Now I would like some help with this. If you have Boromir pictures you would like me to post please send them. If you have drawn a picture of Boromir please send it! (I will give you all due credit) If you've written an observation, song, poem, whatever, about Boromir send it because I would love to post it! NEW a pic
of Boromir, drawn by my good friend Anna. Thank you Anna! "'But how are we going to get down there,
even if you have cut through the drift?'
said Pippin, voicing the thought of all the hobbits. Boromir is a very strong character, and he was always protecting those smaller than him, like Pippin. Peter Jackson emphasized this quite a bit in the movie. I think Sean Bean is one of the best actors in the movie and it's sad that his character dies... In the movie Boromir is always looking out for Merry and Pippin and I think he's kind of like an uncle to them. One of my favourite scenes is The Ring Goes South, where Boromir is teaching Merry and Pippin swordplay, and the subsequent wrestling match. We see the fun side of Boromir there, when so much of his screen time dwells on his corruption. Also in Moria when the Company is jumping over the gap in the stairs Boromir grabs Merry and Pippin. Boromir always wants to protect them, and in the end he died to save them. "Then Boromir had come leaping throught the trees. He had made them fight. He slew many of them and the rest fled. But they had not gone far on the way back when they were attacked again, by a hundred Orcs at least, some of them very large, and they shot a rain of arrows: always at Boromir. Boromir had blown his great horn till the woods rang, and at first the orcs had been dismayed and had drawn back; but when no answer but the echoes came, they had attacked more fiercly than ever. Pippin did not remember much more. His last memory was of Boromir leaning against a tree, plucking out an arrow; then darkness fell suddenly."-J.R.R. Tolkien, The Two Towers This page is a work in progress. I will be adding to it, and remember please help; even suggestions will be appreciated!
