TE Home > Old News 9/18/04 Since technically it's been a really long time since any new plug-ins were added to the EV Nova downloads page, the bold text indicating recent updates is gone. 12/3/03 A new EVN plug-in, "High Res Splash Screen," has been released, and all the EVN plug-ins have been re-uploaded as Stuffit archives since it has become clear to the webmaster that a zipped Mac plug-in is worse for Windows compatibility, because the converter that comes with Win EV Nova needs a Mac Binary file, which you can set Windows Stuffit Expander to create. Read the conversion instructions html in the Win EVN folder for a better explanation. 11/9/03 Dësc Fixer 1.0.6, FPC Changer, and Vectored Thrust Tone-Down have all been added to the EVN page! Dësc Fixer 1.0.6 is, naturally, mostly compatible with EVN 1.0.6 and FPC Changer... (surprise surprise) changes FPCs. VTTD makes the Vectored Thrust outfit a little less good for big ships. Also, minor site revisions across the board. 7/31/03 A typo fixed, some minor changes. 6/16/03 Dësc Fixer 1.0.5 has been released! You can download it here. We are aware that it was promised almost a month ago, but school makes getting around to things difficult. We've just gone ahead and called it version 1.0.5 because many new typos have been fixed, in addition to the increase in compatibility. If you run into any problems, contact the webmaster at william@pioneerstreet.com 5/27/03 "Ferazel's Wand Tile Bug Fix" now has a proper icon. Version 1.0.1 of Desc Fixer to come shortly, in order to coincide with the release of EV Nova 1.0.5! If you already have EVN 1.0.5, hold off on downloading desc fixer until the 1.0.1 update, which will be Windows EVN compatible (as per the instructions given somewhere on the ASW site) and will also include a proper readme with complete information on changes and possible conflicts. 5/16/03 Some small problems fixed, new "old news" page. (Har!) Also fixed the intro paragraph on this page to be a little more accurate - it was totally forgotten about for a few weeks. 5/15/03 After heaven knows how long, the downloads actually *do* work now. "Battle for the Middle" now has the correct description as well, and several typos have been fixed. The X icons are still "coming soon." Certain graphics on the download pages definitely need tweaking - it's obvious that windows has some sort of programming against displaying fonts actual size. IE for windows is apparently completely incapable of replicating the effect our webmaster gets on his computers. 5/6/03 Some typos have been fixed, some download pages enhanced... and all downloads and download pages work now! Just be warned - if your font size is too big, some things might look a little messed up. 4/15/03 Everything has now been switched to the Lucida Grande/Verdana/Arial/Geneva/Helvetica/sans-serif fonts, in accordance to the example set by the Ambrosia Web Board. I think it looks even better now - particularly pretty with Mac OS X's font smoothing. (The only problem you might have is if you actually have Lucida Grande and it's not antialiased - just turn the font size up to make it look better.) The text has also been lightened up a bit, but not enough apparently. I guess the monitor at school is just too good for its own good. Work on a new web badge has begun, but really won't be finished until our webmaster gets back from Italy (see web board for more information) near the end of vacation and has access to Photoshop 7 at school again. 4/13/03 The entire site has now been switched over to the latest GUI revision. The downloads pages are a little more fleshed out (still no working downloads though). The site has also been changed to Verdana/Arial sans-serif fonts, which looks soooooo much nicer. A faint brownish blemish in the upper-right of the star field background has been fixed. The favicon could still be better, so I'm doing that next. 4/9/03 New outline system applied to home page! Please post your comments on the web board! (And no, I wasn't able to find a better font.) Oh, and there's a new favicon too. Much more refined, I think. And check out that star field! 4/1/03 New and improved interface applied to entire site. Task of getting downloads section running rears its ugly head. This is because all the files that need to go up there are in various scattered locations on various hard drives, and most compressed files from our old (and dead) site are outdated with no convenient way of figuring out which things need to be recompressed. Also, the downloads section requires a million different pages, which is just a pain in the posterior.
